About ILLUMetar
Our Story
Weather information is crucial to any pilot and a significant part of each preflight preparation, if local or cross country. As a passionate private pilot and aviation enthusiast, our founder was looking for a tool to make weather observation fun and easy. With IlluMetar, everyone can observe multiple location's meteorological conditions at a glance, without pulling out an app or calling over to 1800wxbrief.
Integrated Keyhole Hanging Plates
The ILLUMETAR has two integrated Keyhole Hanging Plates that allow you to simply put up the map without the need for any additional framing or hangers.
Ultra Light and Compact
Keep it simple. By using a simple sandwich method, we are able to keep the ILLUMETAR very light and very affordable. The map fits into a standard 24" x 18" frame, but there is really no need for it, since we made sure to give it a clean finish around the edges.
3D Printed LED Lenses
We wanted to make ILLUMETAR unique in many ways. So, we designed custom LED lenses with different symbols to indicate specific types of airports.
